HIS INTERESTS TETHER WITHIN THE LABORATORY AND KITCHEN SPACE. HE CURRENTLY TEACHES AT LOYOLA MARYMOUNT UNIVERSITY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGY AND HAS COOKED IN THE GJELINA KITCHEN IN VENICE, CA.

THE NAME, PATAO, DERIVES FROM A CHILDHOOD NICKNAME FOR ANTHONY'S LATE GRANDMOTHER, MILDRA "MOMMY PATAO' MARTIN AND IS A DEDICATION TO HER. THE MONIKER IS TAKEN FROM THE TOWN NAME, MAGPATAO, LOCATED IN MINDANAO, PHILIPPINES. PATAO CELEBRATES THE PERSEVERANCE OF SPIRIT AND STRIVES TO MEMORIALIZE LIFE THROUGH THOUGHTFUL WORK THAT SPANS THE CULINARY AND SCIENTIFIC FIELDS.
